pixi beauty skincare: reviews

Every month I get usually at least one PR package from Pixi Beauty but this one was the most exciting one for me in a long time because it was all SKINCARE products!! I don't wear alot of makeup so usually I post less about eyeshadow palettes and highlighters but this package was perfect for me since these products target hydrating and exfoliating.
First off, Pixi Beauty is the best with packaging! Look at how cute this box is with the spinning arrow in the middle!
1) Glow Mud Mask
2) T-Zone Peel Off Mask
3) Peel & Polish
4) DetoxifEYE Depuffing Eye Patches
5) Glow Glycolic Boost Brightening Infusion Sheet Mask
T-Zone Peel Mask - aka the silver-coloured mask on my...t-zone (duh!). This is a peel off mask that contains aloe vera, avocado and green tea, to name a few ingredients. My skin felt firmer after peeling off and lighter too (goodbye heavy oil feeling!). It doesn't promise long term results but it does promise immediate, short term results (and it delivers on that!) if you're looking for a quick pick me up. Recommended use: 1-2x a week
Glow Mud Mask - aka the clay mask around my lip area which is where I usually get acne. Ingredients include kaolin clay, ginseng and sea salt. This mask aims to clarify and purify the skin while helping maintain its glow. I didn't notice a big improvement with complexion but my skin did feel alot cleaner after using. Some of my smaller acne spots seemed less red too. But don't expect it to improve any major hormonal acne because no products ever get rid of hormonal acne lol that is completely an internal thing that has little to nothing to do with your cleanliness. It does feel really nice though if you're just feeling a little congested and yucky and need to hit the reset button. Recommended use: 2-3x a week or spot treatment when needed
DetoxifEYE Hydrogel Under-Eye Patches - these eye patches contain hyaluronic acid and caffeine, and claim to hydrate and reduce eye puffiness and dark circles. I didn't notice improvement with dark cirles but it does improve morning puffiness. I like to put it in the fridge overnight and bring it out in the morning for an extra kick. It helps me cool off too especially since its been alot warmer these days. As much as I love the convenience and fun of using these eye patches, I did notice carrageenan was the third highest product on the ingredients list. I'm no scientist but just having read a few articles online has scared me into not wanting to use or consume anything with this ingredient, especially when its so high on the list, meaning its got a major presence.
Glycolic Acid Sheet Mask - this sheet mask contains witch hazel, glycolic acid and ginseng to moisturize and maintain healthy glowing skin. I was actually surprised how well this mask fit my face shape. You get some really crazy ones from brands some time that are soooo off like did they even actually look at ANY woman's face shape before making the proportions?? LOL anyways, this sheet mask fits super well, is super soaked with serum and was really hydrating. My skin did look somewhat brighter after using this a few times. I also like that the mask is biodegradable! I just wish there was some more extra serum in the packet to apply on the neck area. There wasn't alot, compared to some other sheet mask brands I've tried.
Lastly is the Peel and Polish Peel that helps polish away dead skin and resurface new brighter skin. It contains lactic acid, papaya fruit extract and sugar cane extract for exfoliation. I quite liked the harshness of this peel, it has a good amount of grit, not too harsh not too light. I applied this and gentle massaged in a circular motion for 2 minutes and then washed off. Recommended use is 2-3x a week (AM or PM).

What are your Pixi favourites? I'm hoping to try the In Steam Shower Facial, Collagen Plumping Mask and Glow Peel Pads next!
