World Tourism Day with G Adventures

Monday, October 03, 2016

Last Wednesday I celebrated World Tourism Day with G Adventures where they whisked all the guests away in an experience where we 'traveled around the world' without having to leave Toronto.

Guests got to taste different ethnic foods and imported beers and wines, experience India through VR, and fully submerge ourselves into nature with the large drop down screens surrounding us from all sides, of scenery and experiences from around the world.

G Adventures is a Canadian tour company that provides small group tours, safaris and expeditions. Their trips and company core values aim to "embrace authentic accommodation, exotic cuisine and local transport to put travellers on a first-name basis with the planet’s people, cultures, landscapes and wildlife". This means they like to work with the locals and small local businesses to keep fueling the economy and spreading around the funds. They believe in sustainable tourism which means to 'ensure that we’re giving back more to the communities and the natural surroundings that we help you to visit than what is being taken away in our travels'. Their prepackaged excursions are ideal for those who are unsure of where to go or dont want the stress and hassel of researching and planning. And its great for those who want a more down to earth and local experience in the country and want to really connect with the culture. Im hoping next year I can afford one of these trips because they look AMAZING!

Trying out a VR (virtual reality) headset for the first time! It was crazy how it takes you into another world entirely. Felt like I wasnt even in the room anymore.
Guests departed with their very own VR headset to play with at home. I cant even tell you how many hours I've watched on this thing just lying in bed searching up cool VR videos on youtube lol

To end off this post, check out below for some video footage of the event that I took since pictures dont always do these events justice! Chat soon :)
